Wednesday Afterschool Cafe (WAC) is a joint ministry of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and the Neighborhood Learning Center (NLC). WAC is the Wednesday program for all NLC Afterschool Kids and is open for Church and Community Kids ranging in age from Elementary Students through High School Youth, including our Confirmation program. WAC is run by the NLC Staff and church volunteers, supervised by Jo Anna Rich, and is held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
Why do we “do” WAC?
WAC is an opportunity to connect with God, community and our bigger story as told through Scripture, experienced through play, and lived out at the family time meal.
What do children, youth, teens and adults “do” at WAC?
Our afternoon schedule operates on 4 key principles: Bible Study, Recreation, Worship Arts, and Family Time (dinner). Children and Youth also have homework time and a snack.
If WAC is after school, how do children and youth get to WAC?
Children take LCPS or NLC bus transportation from most schools. Harmony and Woodgrove students are picked up by volunteers in the car rider lane! Once here, WAC students are greeted by the NLC staff and church volunteers.

What if we can’t stay for the WHOLE WAC experience?
That’s okay. We do prefer that WAC participants leave during transitional moments between activities.
What about WAC Dinner? (Click here for our menu schedule for the year!)
WAC dinner will begin at 5:45 pm. Everyone (parents, siblings) is invited to join us for WAC Dinner.
How can we get involved in WAC?
Register anytime at the St. Andrew Church office (540-338-4332) or with Jo Anna Rich (firstname.lastname@example.org) as a participant or as a volunteer. We always need a helping hand in the kitchen, to do carpool, or be a table host at dinner. There’s always room for one more at WAC!
So, is there a cost?
Donations are accepted each week to help with the cost of the dinner.
